WHAT IS PROTON THERAPY?

Proton therapy is a type of radiation that offers highly precise radiation therapy with less risk of damage to nearby healthy tissues, thus, less risk of side effects as compared with conventional radiation. This property is particularly useful in many types of cancers, especially cancers with close proximity to the vital organs and cancers in sensitive patients and children.

A STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITY

Operating in 2021, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Proton Center is the first center in Thailand and Southeast Asia. This 10,161-square-foot facility is meticulously designed to house the equipment used to deliver proton therapy to patients, including a cyclotron and gantry that produces and delivers proton beams to a single-room treatment area, making this Southeast Asia-leading and life-changing treatment available for all.

Getting to know the machine

With intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT) system using pencil beam scanning, and image-guided technology, we can deliver high quality radiation therapy without compromise.
